PTSO NEWS

THE PTSO WISHES EVERYONE A HEALTHY, HAPPY AND PEACEFUL 2008
VERY IMPORTANT PTSO REQUEST!
With the start of the New Year, PTSO kicks off with preparations to launch the start of
THE BAHRAIN SCHOOL INTERNATIONAL COOKBOOK!
To ALL members of the Bahrain school community- students, teachers and parents!
For a number of years the PTSO has been “cooking up” ideas as to when and how to put together a cookbook that brings together the numerous nationalities that Bahrain school is so proud off—so finally we have got the ball rolling! International Day has been a long standing tradition at school that has always celebrated this incredible diversity. We now want to memorialize this rich mosaic into a yet more substantive form— “THE BAHRAIN SCHOOL
INTERNATIONAL COOKBOOK”! Following are guidelines for sending in your recipes:
- All “chefs” need to give their name, nationality, and along with the name of the dish, which country the recipe is from, and a photograph of the dish (not mandatory) ALSO, please give your contact no in case we need to clarify anything.(this will be confidential)
- It is vital that the recipes be tried and tested with accurate measurements, along with clear, precise and easy to follow instructions. (Just as easy as YOU would want it!)
- We are requesting at least 1 recipe in each category (not mandatory but preferred!) However, please mark each recipe in order of priority of which recipe you want printed.1 (one) being at the top of the list. We want to insure that we have a balance of recipes in each category and will try and accommodate as many as we can.
- Please state serving size, cooking temperature, cooking time and possibly preparation time. Helpful hints at the bottom such as: can it be prepared ahead of time, can it be frozen etc makes a recipe that much easier to try out and follow! Even a personal comment/tip about the dish would be nice to share J
CATEGORIES:
Appetizers, Soups & Salads, Vegetables, Main dishes, Breads etc, Desserts, Miscellaneous
OTHER CATEGORIES/SECTIONS:
Other than the above categories, we would also like to try and include the following if we have enough response:
Kids’ favorites: kids—send in your personal favorites; they can be in any or all categories.
Family favorites , Seasonal favorites , Cultural holiday menus or just individual dishes that are traditional to the holiday i.e.: Eid, Christmas, Ramadan, Thanksgiving etc.
As we would like to launch the book at the same time as INTERNATIONAL DAY (March 22nd) the DEADLINE FOR SENDING IN THE RECIPES IS FEBUARY 10 TH. Getting this project together is a lot of work, and its success depends ON YOU. PLEASE send in the recipes ASAP to the following e-mail: ptso.bahrain@eu.dodea.edu
If you would like to help or for further information, please call one of the following:
